Judy Masliyah has always been compelled to learn and create. She studied languages, humanities and fine arts before discovering her true passion in clothing design. In the years
following graduation from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Judy established apparel companies in New York, California and Texas. She also aquired a broad range of costuming
experience, both designing and building, for music videos, film, theater and opera.
In 2010, she opened her shop, My Flaming Heart, in Houston, Texas as a venue to house her collection of antiques and oddities alongside her own jewelry and dress designs. She quickly expanded to
include clothing for men and children. Her original fabric designs encompass incongruent genres, adding a somewhat disturbing tone to otherwise classic and nostalgic styles. Her most recent fabrics
have become more political in nature. Her controversial 'Anti Nazi Coat' was made as a response to Charlottesville and her 'Keep Your Tiny Hands Off My Rights Dress' was taken from a sign in the
Houston Women's March.
